The Menu-Based Web Site Service for Restaurants
WHY EVERY RESTAURANT NEEDS A WEB SITE
No matter how informal or modest your eating establishment is, your independent
restaurant needs to show customers what you have on offer, where you are, when you're
open, and what you look like. The best way to show this is with a web site.
People today—especially young people—are looking for restaurants via the
Internet. Increasingly, they're doing it on the go with mobile phones and tablets. The
newer phones today have high resolution screens and touch-screen navigation and can
easily view your menu.
They'll find your web site with Google, Yahoo, Bing, Yelp, Urbanspoon and emails and Facebook
and Twitter postings from friends.
We offer a web site service that is simple and
inexpensive, built around your menu—whether it is a formal paper menu or menu boards.
GOOGLE LOCAL SEARCH
One way that customers will find you is with Local Search on Google, Yahoo, and Bing. The map at the
right and the restaurants listed below it are the results from a search on Google for "mexican restaurants sonora ca".
What is very interesting is that if you tell Google about your web site, they will display a link to your
web site in the results. So with one click the customer is on your web site, looking at your menu, photos,
and other information.
As part of our service we will make sure that your web site is known to Google, Yahoo, and Bing so that
it will appear in search results. And we can help you rank higher in search results. Many people will
take your ranking in the list as a measure of quality of the restaurant, so it is important to rank high.

How to Rank High in Local Search.
OUR STANDARD VERSION WEB SITE
THE HOME PAGE
At left we show an example of our Standard Version web site. Typically, the home page has a slide
show with two or three photos. These might be an outside photo, an inside photo, photos of
dishes you serve, or of nearby local landmarks. If you don't have photos available (especially in the beginning), we can
provide them, in the form of stock photos of the kind of food you serve and/or local landmarks and
themes.
The site includes your menu, a map, hours, general information, and photos.

OUR PREMIUM VERSION WEB SITE
THE HOME PAGE
At the left we show a home page from our Premium Version web site. This is the same
as the Standard Version, except that instead of a simple name at the top header, we have a more
sophisticated design. This might include photos as shown in the Sportsman example, or an
illustration, or the use of your logo. If photos are used they can be photos you supply or stock
photos we have access to.
FACEBOOK AND TWITTER
If you have a Facebook page, it isn't necessarily easy to find. Facebook has added pages for
many businesses that aren't under the control of the business owner--and in the process used up
the name that is easiest to find the business by. If you have a Facebook page or Twitter
account, we provide a link to it from your web site.
UPDATING HOURS AND THE LIKE
We make it easy for your staff to update information about the restaurant such
as hours. They need only a computer, web browser, and Internet connection, or just a smart phone
such as an iPhone. As the display at the left shows, it's simple to do. Edit the text in the box and
then click on "Change Web Site".
If you wish, you can in this way list daily or weekly specials and list events such as live music.
WE BUILD IT BUT YOU CAN FINE-TUNE IT
We build your web site ready-to-go based on the information you provide—your menu, the colors used for your menu and
the inside and outside decor, and answers to questions we ask. We know you are busy and want to
make it as simple and as quick as possible to get your web site up and running.
But if you find the time you can have control of your web site with our editing capabilities. At the left is
our Color Editor, which you can use to change the colors of the web site.
The Color Editor in the illustration at the left is set up to edit the background color of the web site. By moving
the mouse above the color palette, the user can see what different background colors would
look like given the menu and the other colors used on the site. When the user finds a new color he or
she likes, one click and that color on the web site is changed.
