The Tools for Tourism group of Cognitive Research & Design Corporation is seeking candidates for positions that we expect to become
available as we ramp up our Menu-Based Web Site Service for Restaurants.
We expect openings for the following positions in the near future:
Web Technology Assistant
This position involves creating and maintaining web sites for restaurants, using specialized software we have developed as well as Adobe Photoshop, possibly some Adobe Illustrator, and using an application program to upload files to a web server. You will talk with clients via phone and email to get information and ensure that they are satisfied.
Skills Required: Basic computer skills, including the ability to use a web browser, navigate through folders and manage files, and to use application programs. We will train you on our software and the product. We will also train you on Adobe Photoshop and, if appropriate, Adobe Illustrator. You should be patient an attentive when interacting with customers.
Job Location: Mi-Wuk Village/Twain Harte area. You should live in Tuolumne County. Some of the work could be done at home at times, but we need at least one person to staff the office during normal business hours to handle calls from clients.
Pay: $10 to $20 per hour depending upon skills and experience.
Job Type: Part-time, could eventually be full-time.
Graphic Designer
This position involves creating graphics for the home pages of our Menu Based Web Site Service for restaurants, usually particularly what we call a "logo header". This is a graphic that goes at the top of the home page of each web site that is intended to reflect the personality of the restaurant and that contains some basic information such as the name of the restaurant and phone number. These graphics will be created in Adobe Illustrator or a similar graphic design tool that can be converted to Adobe Illustrator.
Skills Required: Basic computer skills, good graphic design skills and possibly illustration skills, and the ability to use Adobe Illustrator.
Job Location: We are flexible about where the work is done, but you should expect occasional meetings in the Mi-Wuk Village/Twain Harte area.
Pay: $15 to $30 per hour depending upon skills and experience.
Job Type: Occasional work for specific jobs.
Web Designers
We have occasional requests from clients (restaurants) to build customized web sites that go considerably behind the relatively simple web sites that we build as part of our low-cost service. These sites can be expected to be relatively fancy and expensive. They would typically make use of our software and menu service to display the menu.
Skills Required: We are looking for web designers with exceptional graphic design and possibly illustration skill. You should do the layout and graphic design work, while we would do the necessary coding' in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
Job Location: We are flexible about where the work is done, but some of it involves working with us in the Mi-Wuk Village/Twain Harte area.
Pay: negotiable depending upon skills and experience.
Job Type: Occasional specific jobs.
Sales Representatives.
We are seeking Sales Representatives to make in-person sales calls to restaurants in urban areas in California. At present we are seeking Part-time respresentatives to cover the Modesto area (Stockton to Merced), the Sacramento Metropolitan area, Contra Costa County, and Alameda County. You should live in the appropriate area. These are entry level jobs and are commission based. For details see Sales Representative Jobs.
